There is a WordPress plugin which we recently installed for a client of ours that allows the backend of WordPress to change the languages into the language of the users preference.   In this case, we are using some of the administrators in English and others in Portuguese.   

The plugin is named ( Admin Language Per User )  and it simply accomplishes this simple little need.
